M is ust go to church?
If you are by the hand of your parents as a small child and they want you to come to church, then you have to go. But if you are old enough to make your own decisions, the answer is of course: no. No, you don't have to go to church. No, you don't have to go to church.
I would like to add one thing, however. Personally, I don't go to church because for some reason I have to. But I like going to my church.
As a second. Let's define church. A church is where fellow believers meet and praise God, pray, preaching, etc. A church can also be in a rented hall. It doesn't have to be Catholic or Protestant.
Nobody has to go to church or to parish
When asked whether you have to go to church, there are usually views like these:
- God wants it that way, it's a kind of law.
- It is easy to do, is “Christian duty”.
- What do you want others to think if you don't go to church?
The misunderstanding behind such sentences is that a service and attendance are not intended to put yourself in the limelight before God or people. So going to church is not a sign of real piety.
D u may go to church
Hopefully one thing is now clear: Nobody has to go to church. However, I would like to add: but you can. What appears to us as a compulsion in our environment - perhaps even with a pious environment - is in fact a great freedom. In many countries there are hardly any churches and parishes. In others you are not allowed to visit them if you do not belong to the “right” ethnic group. The many Christian offers in Germany and beyond represent a real opportunity.
You can just go to church anywhere if you feel like it. You may. Feel free. It doesn't make you any more pious, but nobody prevents you from practicing your religion freely or at least from informing yourself on the spot.
Maybe your way to the next church is too far for you or you would like to find out more in an anonymous environment, then you've come to the right place. Here you can contact Christians. It's not a substitute for a church service, but you can ask questions, for example.
“ T he human body has many limbs and organs, but only together do the many parts make up the one body. So it is with C hristus and his body. " ( 1 Corinthians 12:12 )
